Body Hair FUE
Body Hair Follicular Unit Extraction
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) procedures are typically performed using hair from a donor area on the back of the scalp, however, for those with moderate to severe hair loss, the scalp donor supply may not be adequate to source a successful procedure. Body hair is an alternative source of hair in such cases. The Wise Institute for Hair Restoration has seen much success in using the Body Hair Follicular Unit Extraction (BHFUE) method and Dr. Wise is a leading surgeon in this specialty procedure.
Using a modified NeoGraft technique, (Dr. Wise is a leading surgeon in this minimally invasive procedure) we are able to harvest a combination of hair from a man’s arms, legs, back, chest and other areas and utilize those follicles to substitute for the lack of donor hair on the head. The follicles can then be surgically inserted into the top of the scalp just like hair taken from donor area on the scalp. A combination procedure streamlines the incorporation of non-head hair, giving an even aesthetic balance to the outcome. However, even when all non-head hair is used, advanced surgeons like Dr. Wise are also able to utilize specific follicles for their fineness or coarseness to best blend amid the scalp (i.e. leg hair vs. beard hair).
